(2025年3月13日 / Switzerland Weekly) Kasashima Gallery invites Taiwanese and Japanese artists to participate in the Art Shopping 2025 – Salon International d’Art Contemporain Spring Edition, set to make a spectacular debut this April at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, France. The gallery presents a special thematic project, “La Beauté dans Chaque Éventail”, featuring 20 Asian artists showcasing the aesthetics of Eastern art on Kyo Folding Fans.

This series of reports will introduce the participants of “La Beauté dans Chaque Éventail”, providing an in-depth look at their artistic concepts and unique works, leading readers to explore the diverse aspects of contemporary art and experience creative perspectives within an Asian cultural context. This report features the artist: Angela Lin.

Dubbed a “contemporary art traveler,” Angela Lin excels at integrating her travel experiences and life encounters into her works, offering viewers a romantic visual experience and emotional resonance. For the exhibition, Lin will present meticulously crafted Chinese ink paintings, brought to life through the gongbi painting technique, making them exceptionally vivid and detailed. Additionally, her works incorporate the art of Chinese calligraphy, blending semi-cursive, cursive, and clerical script styles. This fusion enhances both the visual depth and cultural richness of her paintings, leading the audience into a world where poetry and art intertwine.

“Blossoming Spring: Lotus and Joyful Magpies” depicts a serene spring morning with blooming lotus flowers, accompanied by charming kingfishers, showcasing a high level of technique and artistic expression. When painting flowers, the artist layers three to four colors on the brush, allowing a single stroke to naturally blend with the ink and water, creating a rich gradient that enhances the natural vibrancy of the petals. For the depiction of birds, the artist meticulously controls the brush and ink, using delicate strokes to render the intricate texture of feathers, capturing the dynamic beauty of their wings.

“Spring Dance of the Paradise Flycatcher” depicts a paradise flycatcher gracefully dancing among peony blossoms. In Asian culture, the paradise flycatcher symbolizes longevity, while the peony represents prosperity. Their combination conveys an auspicious message of happiness and good fortune. This artwork not only captures the beauty of nature but also reflects the artist’s heartfelt blessing for life and prosperity. Through meticulous detailing, it seeks to evoke a sense of hope and longing for a bright future.

A total of 20 artists from Taiwan and Japan have been invited by Kasashima Gallery to participate in the thematic project “La Beauté dans Chaque Éventail.” The exhibition features a diverse range of works, including Chinese ink painting, traditional calligraphy, hard-nib calligraphy, and contemporary art, showcasing the unique cultural and artistic styles of the East. This collection has garnered significant attention from both the art world and the international community.

From April 4 to April 6, 2025, Kasashima Gallery’s thematic project, “La Beauté dans Chaque Éventail,” will be showcased at the Carrousel du Louvre, alongside hundreds of artists from around the world. This exhibition is not only a grand international artistic exchange but also a remarkable opportunity to explore the essence of Eastern art. All art enthusiasts are warmly invited to attend and experience this extraordinary artistic feast.
